FISCHER CUP 2005

The Fischer Cup is a six race series that offers a $300 CASH prize for the 'Fastest' man and woman in the division, a pair of SWIX TEAM poles for second and SWIX CERA-F wax for third. There are no age classes. The first man and women in each race get 30 points, second gets 29 down to 1 point for 30th place. Points are scored allowing racers to "drop" one of the first 5 races (the Gold Rush points are not "droppable" and must be raced to be eligible for the overall points total). Racers must finish at least one Classic style race and the Gold Rush.

Racers are allowed to drop one non-marathon distance races. Final totals will be based on the highest 4 out of 5 points given for the Snowshoe Thompson, Tahoe City Classic, President's Cup, TDXC Relays (Participation Points Only), and Great Ski Race, PLUS the Gold Rush (Men AND Women) Points.

2005 UPDATE: In 2005, the WOMEN will score points for the GOLD RUSH only, since that is the 50K National Championship for Women in 2005. SILVER RUSH distance will not be scored, so women will need to complete the 50K distance to qualify for the Fischer Cup. Men will still need to participate in the Gold Rush to be eligible for the Fischer Cup.
