Welcome to our 2003 edition of Nordic News from the Far West Nordic Ski Education Association.

Once again, we invite you to join Far West Nordic, and be an integral part of the finest sport in the world. Your membership is important to continue our Junior, Senior, & Master Nordic Programs, and helps us “promote the sport of cross country skiing in our part of the world.” We provide opportunities for athlete skill development, provide coaches’ education, endorse Junior, Senior, and Master regional competition teams, and promote cross country ski racing.

Our programs are growing at an incredible rate. Just a glance at some of the local ski areas will find Junior and Master skiers of all levels having fun on skis, whether it’s competition, clinics, school programs, or just going out and participating in our great sport. Our Juniors are competing nationally at the highest levels we’ve ever seen. A special treat this past year was watching junior skiers Tony Bozzio and Nick Sterling act as “fore-runners” at the 2002 Olympics, along with Far West Head Coach Glenn Jobe.
