This is a VERY fun end-of-the-year trip/race experience. You can choose to race 10 km., 21 km., or go for the big one — 42K! No pressure, just fun!

COMPLETED CAMPS
JUNIOR NATIONALS 2010 - PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE
- March 5-14, 2010
- Cost: $2050 (includes airfare); no airfare option $1449
- Open to all Junior National Qualified athletes for 2010.
- $700 deposit due by February 19, remaining balance due February 26
- Uniforms cost $250 for suit and jacket and will be handed out at the Junior Team meeting. Athletes need to have a race suit and a jacket is strongly encouraged.
- *Baggage Fee: 25$ first bag, 35$ second bag; EACH DIRECTION for 120$ total. (Not included in price of trip, athlete pays upon arrival/departure at airport. Pack Light! Save Money!)
Mandatory Junior National Team meeting on Friday February 26, 2010 after the HS State Championship Race at ASC.
Bring payment with you or pay online before.
Every athlete needs to have a valid USSA license, available on the ussa.org website.

UTAH SUPER JOQ - SOLDIER HOLLOW
- January 28 - 31, 2010
- Cost: $465; Sugar Bowl Academy athletes $225; without transportation $380
- Open to all Far West Juniors (age 13-19) wishing for top-notch race experience. Races are in Soldier Hollow, Utah - site of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Nordic skiing

This is one of the most competitive race weekends for juniors in the country, and is a great way for us to race against the best young skiers in the West on the 2002 Olympic trails at Soldier Hollow. Plus, it’s a really fun trip. It will consist of 2 races -- a Sprint Race on Friday and a Distance Race on Saturday (techniques to be determined — we’re getting conflicting info).
This trip is open to all SERIOUS nordic athletes age 13 and above (or coach discretion). We will leave Truckee by van on Thursday morning (you will miss 2 days of school) and return on Sunday night, staying in a private rental home.

METHOW VALLEY SUPERTOUR
- January 14-17, 2010
- Cost: $615 plus airfare
(if cost comes in lower, payment will be adjusted)
- Open to: Far West Junior National Qualified J1 and older, and all Far West Senior Team

This super race trip is open to Far West JO Qualified Juniors, J1 (please talk to your coach for confirmation) or older, plus all Far West Seniors. It is 4 days long with 2 race days. It is a USSA Supertour Race and a PNSA JOQ so the points and competition should be top-notch. We will fly into Spokane, WA and drive to Methow. Coach will be Ben Grasseschi.
Cost of the trip will be $615 plus Airfare (athlete is responsible for co-ordinating airfare with Ben so as not to miss the one-and-only shuttle).

SENIOR NATIONALS

This full-tilt racing trip is open to Far West JO Qualified Juniors, J1 (please talk to your coach for confirmation) or older, plus all Far West Seniors. It is 10 days long with 4 days of top-notch ski racing and competition with the best skiers in the country. Races are also qualifiers for J1 Scandi Cup, World Juniors, USST World Cup and US Olympic Team spots. Coaches will be Ben Grasseschi and Martin Benes.
Cost of the trip will be apprx $1800 plus airfare (athlete is responsible for co-ordinating with Ben for shuttle and timing).

LOCAL THANKSGIVING CAMP
- November 27-29, 2009
- Cost: $40 per day or $90 for the 3 days
- Open to all Far West junior athletes (ages 12 - 19)

Get rid of the Turkey Day Blues with this fun camp right here in your 'backyard'. Learn great skills and work hard in this 3 day Camp with 2 sessions per day of skiing- hopefully on snow! Hiking, ice skating, indoor climbing, rollerskiing, fun, and camaraderie, are just some of the other fun activities you are likely to have at this camp.
Sign up for one day or all three. We recommend the full 3 day immersion and it is cheaper!
This will be a fun camp with lots of variety of activities and venues throughout the Tahoe Basin.
More details to follow depending upon conditions. This is a great alternative to the big adventure to West Yellowstone especially since they sometime have no snow and we do.
This camp is open to all Far West Junior athletes (ages 12 - 19). Rollerski skills are recommended.
Lunch is included on Friday and Saturday.
Camp will be over apprx 1pm on Sunday.

WEST YELLOWSTONE CAMP
- November 21-29, 2009
- Cost: $1330
- Open to: Far West Junior National qualified athletes and FW Senior Team members

- Space limited to 20 athletes, including seniors.
How does a week of full time ski immersion sound? 7 days of on-snow training, technique, drills, and fun with Far West's best coaches and our nation's best skiers- the US Ski Team will be there as well as other divisions and clubs. Industry representatives and new product demos. A festive atmosphere. Join us to kick off your season in grand style.
Camp open to all Far West Junior National qualified athletes and FW Senior Team members. *J2's need to talk to a coach and get his/her permission before signing up. This is an intensive camp with two x's a day training and full skiing immersion. West Yellowstone is a long way from home in many ways...
We will leave Truckee HS at 6am on Saturday, 21 November. We plan to return apprx 6pm Sunday, 29 November.
We will be staying at the Day's Inn in West Yellowstone and will have catered meals there (we'll see how they match up to Linda and Dave!). You will be asked to help with meal prep or clean-up.

BLISS CAMP, BLISS STATE PARK, CA
- August 28-30 2009
- Cost: $165
- Open to all Far West Juniors age 12 and older

For athletes 12 years and older. Camp will be held August 28, 29, 30. This is a medium-intensity camp with fun training activities and ski technique. Meet at the Truckee HS @ 4pm on Friday to head to D.L. Bliss State Park on the west shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe. When we arrive, we’ll cook dinner and enjoy team building activities on the beach. Saturday morning will be the annual biathlon workout consisting of kayaking and running and an afternoon roller ski session. Sunday is a hike up a mountain for a fantastic view of Lake Tahoe. Come join your ski buddies for the last training camp of the Summer! Coaches will be Lea, Martin, Kelsey, and one other. Plan to be back at Truckee HS Sunday evening.
TWO RIVERS CAMP
- August 12-16 2009
- Cost: $385
- Open to qualified Junior National Athletes

This is a high level camp open to all qualified Junior National Athletes. It will be in conjunction with the PNSA Division so athlete space is limited. It will be a higher Intensity-Low Elevation/High Volume Camp with lots of rollerskiing, swimming, distance trail running, rollerskiing, intervals, swimming, rollerskiing, hill bounding, poison oak, and some rollerskiing. Camp will take place at the confluence of Klamath River and Cal-Salmon River in Northern California sorta within the Marble Mountain and Trinity Alps Wilderness areas. Camp atmosphere will be rather remote and very camp like. Not for the faint of Heart! Closest towns are Happy Camp, Willow Creek, and Etna; and they are not that close. If you have never heard of these places then you should consider going!
Coaches will be Ben Grasseschi, Ben Husaby, Martin Benes, and one other.
JUNE LAKE CAMP, JUNE LAKE, CA
- June 23-26, 2009
- Cost: $215
- Open to all Far West Juniors age 13 and older
- Sign-up Deadline July 19, 2009
For ALL Far West juniors age 13 or older. Super fun camp with lots of technique and distance training. A great mid-summer training goal to look forward to and learn from. All abilities and levels welcome. Camp will include ski walking, technique, rollerskiing, hiking in the amazing Eastern Sierra, games, beach, swimming, running, S' mores, strength/core training, etc.
Coaches for this camp will be Nancy Fiddler, Martin Benes, and Lea Mckinstry,+ others, with great food provided by Camp Cookie, Mike McElravey.
A packing list will be sent out once you have signed up.
You will leave Truckee HS at 10am on Thursday, 23 July, and return apprx 6pm on Sunday, 26 July.

If you want to go to a camp follow these steps:
1) Convince your parents that you must attend. You can use the following reasons:
- The camps are INEXPENSIVE.
- They are high quality - the best coaches in the country run them.
- You will learn how to train during the offseason to build your endurance and strength as well as refine your technique.
- You will build your confidence. You will be training with the best junior skiers in the West.
- You will meet other athletes your age that are interested in cross country skiing.
- You will learn responsible behavior, like doing the dishes, taking out the garbage, etc.
- You will have a lot of fun.
2) Go to our CAMP SIGN-UP PAGE and fill it in. Either pay on-line or mail the Registration Form, Releases and Payment to:
