2011 RACES:
December 26, 2010: Snowshoe Thompson Classic: Auburn Ski Club
January 23, 2011: Tahoe Rim Tour (Classic Points Only): Tahoe XC to Northstar
February 13, 2011: Paco’s XC Valentine's Cup: Tahoe Donner XC
February 21, 2011: Van Norden President's Cup: Royal Gorge XC
March 6, 2011: The Great Ski Race: Tahoe XC to Truckee
March 20, 2011: California Gold Rush & Silver Rush: Royal Gorge XC
The Fischer Cup is now a SEVEN event nordic race series that offers prizes for the fastest skiers in the Far West division; $300 CASH prize first place overall, a pair of SWIX TEAM poles for second and SWIX CERA-F wax for third. There are no age classes. Skiers must have a Far West Nordic Racing Membership.
RULES FOR 2011:
- The first place finisher in each division gets 30 points, second place gets 29 down to 1 point for 30th place (except for the Great Race and Gold Rush, see below).
- Because of the high number of out-of-town "fast" skiers for these races, both the Men’s Division Great Ski Race and Men’s Division California Gold Rush will count for 40-39-38, etc. points. (The Great Ski Race and Silver Rush Points for the women will remain at 30-29-28, etc.)
- You MUST participate in at least TWO CLASSIC races and TWO FREESTYLE races to be eligible.
- Only the CLASSIC division for the Tahoe Rim Tour is eligible for points.
- Participants are allowed to "drop" ONE of the first 5 race scores. The Gold Rush/Silver Rush points are not "droppable."
- WAVE START RULES: Women who choose to race in the MEN’S wave of any race with wave starts by gender will score the points calculated for the MEN’S Wave, but those points are applicable to her overall series score. (For example, if a woman chooses to race against the Men by starting in the Men’s Wave, and comes in 10th place in that Wave, she would receive 21 points as her score.)
TieBreakers: If two or more individuals are tied at the end of the series, tiebreakers are performed in this order:
#1: The person with the most races completed wins the tie
#2: The person with the most head-to-head wins against the competitor wins the tie
#3: The person with the highest point total BEFORE dropping the minimum race wins the tie.
